Standards - Have your voice heard right away!
The ACA is revising one of the most important things we deal with - Standards! And by ACA, we mean you. Want to hear what’s going on or have your voice heard? The information about the draft changes to the ACA-Accreditation Standards can be found on-line at: http://www.ACAcamps.org/accreditation/2006revisions.pdf.
Council of Delegates
It’s sort of like the House of Representatives for the ACA. Each section provides a certain number of people to represent their members to the organization. These representatives make decisions about many of the critical issues in ACA . This year the hot topic is: Standards! Here’s how to get involved in the Council, which meets before the National Conference in Chicago:
- Ask your Section Executive or President if all the delegates have been chosen for the next meeting. They might need you!
- REGARDLESS of the answer you get, go to the Council’s in person meetings in Chicago and participate in the on-line hearings! Anyone can be heard. That’s why they are open and why it’s not quite like the House of Representatives. Finally, it’s pretty cool to see how this thing we call ACA works and see its volunteer-driven structure in action!
The Delegates are scheduled to meet in Chicago:
-Monday February 6th, 2:00pm-6:30pm (approx.)
-Tuesday February 7th, 8:00am-12:15pm. (approx.)
