YP Fall ‘05 Launches

Hello Again, ACA Young Professional!

This email gives you an update and asks for you to get involved – today! It includes the answers to such questions as:

- What’s been going on? Why haven’t I heard anything? Really, what’s the deal?
- What kinds of leadership roles are there? And what are they specifically? How much time does it take?
- How do I find the YP Blog or communicate with the committee / other YPs?
- How is this different than the ACA Call for Volunteers?
- When does this start?

Ready for action? Go to http://acacamps.org/youngpros and get involved! (You can also check out http://www.acayp.org and participate in the YP Blog/Wiki!)

What’s been going on? Why haven’t I heard anything?
Now that the summer is over, we are opening up your ideas to everyone and we are beginning Phase 2 -  The development of projects and programs both regionally and nationally. For more details on how to get actively involved in this giant step forward, please visit our Web site at http://www.acacamps.org/youngpros.

Really, what’s the deal?
You all have great ideas, and everyone wants to see them implemented. Now we are ready for the YPs around the country to take some leadership roles. That’s you. Go to http://www.acacamps.org/youngpros to learn what’s been going on.

What kinds of leadership roles are there? How much time does it take?
Please join or chair a task force and be responsible for developing a project or program. Or, you can be a Section Liaison. Some sections are still available. There are also opportunities to serve on the YP Committee – The core committee that is leading this group. Contact us through the web site if you are interested!  Visit the web site at http://www.acacamps.org/youngpros.

How much time does it take?
As much time as you want to give. Every small commitment helps!

How do I find the YP Blog or communicate with the committee / other YPs? The YP Blog is now live at http://www.acayp.org - Come check it out and add your thoughts and ideas. We’ll post everything we do via email up there. You can email the committee at youngprosinfo@acamaillist.org and we’ll get back to you quickly.

How is this different from the ACA Call for Volunteers?
It’s not different at all. If you want to Volunteer for ACA, go to the short form at: www.ACAcamps.org/volunteers/volunteerform.php and sign up - Just put yourself in as an ACA YP in the “other” category. Or, you can sign up with us.

When is this going to happen?
NOW! Tell us what you want us to do, and we’ll help you get started and deliver it to your section, your peers, and ACA!

Sincerely,
The YP Committee
